Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly - Seasonal First

Not the best photo, I'm afraid, (taken behind double glazing), but our first sighting in 2017 of a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly. May there be many more!

I measure Spring by Brimstone emergence
no butterflies here yet and today (though wonderfully sunny) is far too cold for butterflies!
