October has been exceptional, but the low light betrays the fact that the season is turning. |
The light also accentuates the mounds. You can just see Tranmer House through the trees. |
It has been a stunning autumn for colour. |

How do you tell a ruddy darter from a common darter?
Lovely photos, the light on the grass is beautiful. What a cute caterpillar too, though I can't help with id.
