Six 7-spot Ladybirds and Eggs at Flatford

On sage leaves

I have seen a few more 'seasonal firsts' recently, though have yet to hear a Cuckoo (though I gather Cuckoo Chris has been in Suffolk). We saw what we believe are our first 7-spot Ladybird eggs of 2015 (photo below). I have just logged the photos on the UK ladybird Survey's iRecord form. Six 7-spots and the cluster of eggs were on foliage in a bank adjacent to the RSPB Flatford Wildife Garden last Saturday. It is always lovely to see ladybirds that are not Harlequins!

Lovely photos, Caroline. We've seen a couple of six spots too this year, though no eggs. Always lovely to see them.

I would never have known what their eggs look like. I'll need to keep a closer eye.

Lovely photos and so good to see 7 spots. All I've seen in our garden (and house!) this year are Harlequins :(
