good lists! You saw some late swifts didn't you?
Yes, Juliet, and bedraggled Swallows cowering in the cloister roof beams on Iona, on a blustery wet day. I couldn't help feeling (fearing) for them with their long haul ahead. But I guess the mild wet conditions had at least produced insects, though we saw the fewest midges in Scotland ever - for us.
