Orthoptera (2): Grasshopper or Cricket?

Having posted about a Grasshopper in my last post (also on our car windscreen), I thought it would make sense to post this creature here. It was actually spotted in September 2009 in Wiltshire. Judging by the long antennae, I guess it may be a Cricket. There are ten species of Bush Cricket in Britain, apparently.

i took some pics of a katydid yesterday as well as a walking stick and i'm wondering now if your pic isn't a katydid?? they look very similar. i'll try to post my katydid sometime this morning. if not, it'll be later this evening. sadly, my katydid isn't alive. i didn't notice until later. hope all is well.

I've never seen one of these before Caroline. How unusual.
