Beautiful Birds (6): At the 'most photographed' castle in Scotland

We watched this bird (or these birds) on 26 and 30 June 2010
on the edge of Loch Duich,
not far from Castle Eilean Donan

I have not as yet been able to identify the species:
I would hazard a guess that it might be a member of the Sandpiper family.

Any clues would be gratefully received!

Love both the sandpiper and the castle! The castle does look familiar....maybe from a movie?
