If you have the opportunity to adopt a nestbox or to take part in a similar scheme, I would encourage you to give it a go. The cost of 2011 sponsorship for the Clydach Reserve is £2 per nestbox. We first took part in the survey in 2009. You can read about our 2009 fledglings here.
I have only visited this reserve once to date, and on that occasion (very early on in my blogging days), I hoped I had encountered a rare beetle. You can read about that expedition here (the beetle) and here (the ID) ...
Nice post and photo. It looks like a wonderful area for the birds. It is neat that you have adopted a nestbox. Do you watch them every spring?
ReplyDeleteThat scene is beautiful there Caroline. I never realised that you could adopt a nest box and its so cheap aswell - excuse the pun!
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline, i also love what you are doing, in fact i want to follow this waterway uphill or downhill just to see what are in there, and of course watch the birds i will encounter. And i also love to take photos of whatever live things i will encounter. Your bugs photos are awesome, want to do that too but my lenses are not for them, wish i can have a macro soonest.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea, Caroline, to adopt a nest box! And what a beautiful area you live in.
ReplyDeleteit looks a lovely place. How nice to sponsor a nestbox and find out how many chicks hatched etc.
ReplyDeleteI've only been there twice, and both times seen Red Kites overhead. So look out for them if you go to Cwm Clydach again!
